Room Redo
This weekend I worked in Morgan's bedroom. I painted the walls and the furniture. My friends Shawn and Julie came over and helped me with a lot of the room painting and also putting it back together when I was done. I love the end result! The color is called pear green and you can't see it in the picture very well but there are green leaves on her comforter and pillow shams that match the wall color. I am still undecided about curtains.
It made for a long and tiring weekend.
In other news, Morgan has decided to go back to Jazz class at dance so we are now going to dance class four nights a week. Like we didn't have enough to do already. But she thinks she wants to try out for the drill team when she gets to high school in a couple of years and I told her that is the best way to learn what she needs to know.
Mason gave us another hilarious moment on Monday. He was riding in the car with Laura (our go to person when all my help is out of town) and they were not talking. All of the sudden Mason says "Lunch is in the middle of my day". Laura just looked at him and was like "lunch is in the middle of everyone's day". Mason started laughing and proceeded to explain how school has 7 periods and his lunch is in the middle of 4th period so his is really in the middle of his day. I guess he was just thinking about it and the words spilled right out. What a masonism!

It's a MASONISM
So we are riding home from school the other day and Mason was talking away and he decided to throw out a new phrase - "whatever toots your boot".
I think this some kind of cross between whatever toots your horn and whatever floats your boat. Whatever he was trying to say, the end result was hilarious! Gotta love Masonisms!

Maybe I will blog again???
It has been over ayear since I have posted anything on my blog. I go and read the blogs of my friends and I am so inspired to share what is going on in my life but then I just don't. I think, "Who is going to want to read about my life? I have nothing exciting or inspiring to say." But, I am just going to do it. And maybe my musings will only be for myself, who knows?
There really is nothing out of the ordinary happening at my household these days. I am working at the college still teaching online classes in business and accounting. I was briefly promoted to a supervisory position, but restructuring took that away. I am still feeling down about the situation, but am happy to be back in the classroom at the same time.
Morgan is busy with dance, as usual. She also decided to run cross country this fall. This is a picture of her (on the left), our old neighbor, Grace (in the middle), and her best friend, Sara. They were running a mile and a half that day. Morgan also has a boyfriend - EEK! His name is Blake and we adore him. Of all the boys for her to pick, Blake's dad happens to be a fireman, so we already knew him and his parents and she did not even know it. My sister thinks he looks like a mini Tony Dinozzo from NCIS. Right now, Morgan is grounded. She has three cats and her job is to clean out the litter box. She told us she was doing it but when the truth came out, she had not cleaned them in over a week so she is grounded until the end of the month, not for failing to do her job, but for lieing to us about doing it. Ugh - Sometimes I hate being the Mommy.
Mason is in high school this year. It makes me feel so old. He is in the marching band and loving it. He says it is the best part of high school because he was able to start off with a group of friends and avoid some of the finding your place in high school drama. He has been going to parties and events with band friends and been very busy with rehearsals and performances. He is still bowling and doing Tae Kwon Do. He is a purple belt now. The picture of Mason is with a upper classman he is friends with. I don't know the boys name, but Mason does and he is at school while I am writing this.
Sam is just as busy as he always is. He is working hard at the fire department and playing hard at the bowling alley. He is getting ready for his big elk hunting trip coming up this week. Hopefully he gets the big one!
That is all I have to say for today but maybe I will be inspired to blog more this year and maybe someone will be interested in listening.
